Keeping in mind that student safety was a number one concern; there were many times throughout the course that we asked students to step out to THEIR edge. To step outside their comfort zone to attempt to do things that they were not sure that they could do.

Take a look at this student giving it all he has to offer in order to make his way across a Tyrolean traverse several hundred feet off of the ground. It usually takes a seasoned mountaineer every ounce of courage and physical strength to pull themselves across this "bridge" of rope.

Why did we emphasize the word "bridge". Because using a rope, we had created a Spiritual bridge to a place of greater personal courage and self reliance. The rope was taking the student to a place that he or she could not get to on their own that was beyond their current level of ability.
